Consecration of the U.S. to the Sacred Heart and

Bringing the Heart of Christ into Your Home

The United States Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB) have announced that on June 11, 2026, the bishops of the United States will consecrate the U.S. to the Sacred Heart of Jesus.  This act entrusts our country in a special way to the Christ's love and mercy on the occasion of the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence.

The USCCB has published a number of spiritual resources for this event, including a special novena, prayers, and links to recent papal documents .  These resources can be found by clicking here.  In addition, the USCCB has released a short video narrated by Archbishop Alexander Sample, in which he explains more about the devotion and consecration.

How can I participate more fully?

The priests of St. Patrick and St. Margaret Mary parishes are inviting parishioners to consider entrusting themselves to Christ in a special way by enthronement of an image of the Sacred Heart and consecration of their homes and families.  Our priests are especially inviting families to consider completing this devotion between June 2026 and June 2027, forming our own special parish-wide "Year of the Sacred Heart" in honor of this occasion.  Completing this devotion involves inviting one or more of our priests to visit your home for a special blessing of an image of the Sacred Heart and an enthronement ceremony.  An example booklet illustrating how one of these ceremonies may be conducted is provided here by the Knights of Columbus.

If you are interested in holding an enthronement ceremony in your home, you may request a visit by filling out the short contact form below, by calling the parish office directly at 812-232-8518, or by emailing the parish office at secretary@saintpat.org
